    ORIGIN - TERROIR
    Château Grandefont, whose vineyard now covers 45 hectares, is located on the edge from the left bank of the Dordogne, towards Saint-Avit-Saint-Nazaire. First planted with fruit trees, the property was gradually transformed into a vineyard in the 1960s. The vineyard, located in the former bed of the river, has a particularly gravelly soil and benefits of a microclimate related to the proximity of the river. The property, whose name means "Grande Fontaine", formerly served as a stopover for boats transporting wine to Bordeaux.

    80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon

    TASTING
    Château Grandefont La Gabare is beautiful in a deep red color with garnet reflections.
    The nose, fine and aromatic, blends notes of very ripe red fruits, vanilla and various spices.
    The palate is rich in fruit and balanced by a touch of freshness. The tannins are frank and warm, emphasizing the charming character of this Bordeaux.

    FOOD & WINE PAIRING
    La Gabare de Château Grandefont will ideally accompany snails in garlic butter served as a starter. It can be also enjoyed with hachis Parmentier of duck, enchiladas or cassoulet, and to finish with a Camembert de Normandie.
    Serve at 18 ° C.
